Enhanced Layout with Shopify Polaris

We’ve improved the app’s layout by incorporating Shopify Polaris, a design system created specifically for Shopify apps. This enhancement makes the app more intuitive and visually appealing, significantly improving the overall user experience.

Web Pixel for Shopify Events Tracking

We’ve integrated a web pixel into the app to track a comprehensive range of Shopify events, including:

  • collection_viewed
  • page_viewed
  • product_added_to_cart
  • cart_viewed
  • product_viewed
  • product_removed_from_cart
  • search_submitted
  • checkout_started
  • checkout_address_info_submitted
  • checkout_contact_info_submitted
  • checkout_shipping_info_submitted
  • payment_info_submitted
  • checkout_completed

This tracking capability helps analyze user interactions from browsing to purchase, optimize the shopping experience, and improve overall performance.

New GTM Variables and Triggers

We’ve added new GTM variables and triggers to improve tracking and data flow between Google Tag Manager (GTM) and Google Analytics 4 (GA4). The new variables include:

  • discount
  • email
  • phone

The updated triggers now capture specific events such as:

  • Search Submitted
  • remove From Cart
  • initialization
  • add Shipping Info
  • add Payment Info
  • add Contact Info
  • add Address Info

These updates allow for more detailed event tracking and provide comprehensive data to GA4 for better analysis of user interactions and behaviors.

Extra Google Analytics Tags

In our GTM Assistant app, we’ve integrated additional Google Analytics tags to track key user actions and events, including:

  • page_view
  • view_item
  • view_item_list
  • add_to_cart
  • view_cart
  • search_submitted
  • remove_from_cart

These tags enhance our tracking capabilities, providing deeper insights into user behavior. With this improved tracking, we can better analyze user interactions, optimize the app experience, and make informed decisions for future improvements.

Custom Pixel Integration for Checkout Events

We’ve implemented custom pixel tracking to monitor key checkout page events, including:

  • begin_checkout
  • add_contact_info
  • add_shipping_info
  • add_address_info
  • add_payment_info
  • purchase

This integration allows us to track specific user actions during the checkout process, providing valuable insights into user behavior and checkout performance. By analyzing these events, we can enhance the checkout experience, identify potential drop-off points, and improve overall conversion rates.
